Soft contact lenses have now become much more popular than the hard contact lenses mainly due to the comfort they provide and the ease of use. They are manufactured with a plastic-polymer material which has a certain amount of water content added to it. This permits them to let oxygen pass through the lens. Many of them also give some form of UV protection. They are also much more easy to use and far more comfortable than rigid or hard lenses.
